Obituary of Hildegard Margaret Pieracci

PIERACCI " Hildegard Margarete Pieracci (nee Schindler) " Our precious Mom and Grandma, Hilda passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at the age of 86 years after suffering a stroke. She was born on March 12, 1921 in Breslau, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1959. She was predeceased by her mother, Anna Kupczik; her first husband, Erwin Goldenbaum; her son, Andrew and brother Hans Kupczik in 1999; and most recently by her husband, Peter in November 2007. She is most lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her daughter, Ursula (Steve) Ceholski and their children, Delaine and Ranelle and her favourite dog in the world, our Cassie. She is also survived by her daughter, Gerda (Ernst) Hauprich (Cranbrook, BC), their children, Pat (Dave) Eden, Chris (Delaine), and Trent (Barb) and their families. She will be missed by her sister, Maria Stromich and her family: John (Susan) Stromich, Kathy (Denton) Stallard, and Susan Stromich (Steve) and their families, as well as friends and relatives in Germany. She leaves behind special friendships with the Yees, the Lutzers and Dr. Abd-Elmessih (Pat) and the Wingert and Butchko families who were her neighbours, as well as Valerie Fracchia and family, Dinda and Raoul Burchi, Ed Burchi and family, Dina and Tony Tazzioli, and the Pieracci family. Mom loved to cook, bake, and garden and to share the fruits of her labours with others. She enjoyed crocheting (for everyone)! She loved to sing and dance and was a people person. Mom had a heart for all animals and fed the birds in her yard for 27 years. Most of all, she loved her family both near and far away and was proud of all of her grandchildren. Recently Mom moved out of her house and into a beautiful suite at Wintergreene Estates, where she started a new life and bloomed into a new person. She was meeting many friends and often said she felt like a queen there. Thank you to Dr. Abd-Elmessih, the staff of 5E (General Hospital) and to Mary Rose and the staff at Wintergreene Estates for welcoming our Mom and Grandma with open arms and love. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 7:30 " 8:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. A celebration and tribute to Hilda will take place on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in Little Flower R.C. Church, 420 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Bill Mahoney presiding.
