Obituary of Jean Wright

JEAN WRIGHT April 22, 1922 September 8, 2012 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jean on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her parents; loving husband, Garfield; daughter, Dona May Paul: son-in-law, John Derryl Paul; and sister, Audrey Ann Mortimer. Jean is survived by her brother, Jack Mortimer of Sundre; grandsons, Darin (Lynly) of Regina, Darcy (Linda) of Regina, and Dan (Vicky) of Edmonton; seven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Jean was born in Oyen, AB and spent most of her life farming west of Olds. Upon retirement, Jean and Garfield moved into Olds where she enjoyed many years working in her yard. She moved in the last two years to Regina to spend more time with her family. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dolores Vammen who helped Jean for many years in her home in Alberta, as well as Jeans personal care giver, Mavis Ashbourne-Palmer, she has been at Jeans side for the past few years and who the family is sincerely blessed to have met. She is considered an angel for the care she provided to Jean. The family would also like to thank all the staff at Solace Care Home for making Jean feel comfortable and at home. There will be a private graveside memorial for Jean at Eagle Hill Cemetery in Sundre, AB. A luncheon will be held at the Olds Legion which will be announced at a later date. Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make a donation, in memoriam for Jean, to a charity of your choice.
