Obituary of Muriel Alice Elizabeth Hanson

HANSON, Muriel passed away peacefully at Santa Maria Nursing Home on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the age of 97 years. Muriel was born in the Dalesboro district south of Carlyle July 7, 1910. She was predeceased by her sister Winnifred, her husband Arthur in 1986 and grandson Douglas Thomson in 1998. She is lovingly remembered by her son Donald Hanson of Calgary, daughters Linda (Bill) Tait of Regina and Elaine (Andy) Thomson of Regina; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. We couldnt have had a better mom and grandmother. After high school Muriel graduated as a nurse at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg in 1931. She married Arthur Hanson in 1932 and they farmed in the Carlyle district until 1972 when they moved to Regina. Muriel worked at Arcola Union Hospital for a number of years and upon moving to Regina, she continued her nursing career at Parkside Nursing Home and Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. She was a loving, caring person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Special thanks to the staff at Santa Maria Nursing Home for their loving care.
