Obituary of Eleanor Mae Longworthy

LONGWORTHY, ELEANOR MAE APRIL 18, 1940 " MARCH 3, 2008 It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Eleanor Mae Longworthy, affectionately known as Wannie? to her family and friends on Monday, March 3, 2008. Wannie was a long time resident of both Regina and B-Say-Tah Point, Saskatchewan. Wannie attended Haultain Public School, Luther College and Central Collegiate. She graduated with her nursing diploma and nursed in Weyburn, Calgary and Regina. During her career, Wannie was a Residence Director for the Regina YWCA. Wannie played the piano and was an accomplished cellist, playing with the Regina Symphony for several years. Wannies interests varied from traveling in Europe, the CBC Radio and Politics to swimming and reading, as well as were known to include her Saskatchewan Roughriders, her friends and her dogs. Wannie was the daughter of Hazel and Ward Longworthy and was a granddaughter of Louvisa and William Murray Longworthy, a pioneer family who settled in Regina in 1889. Wannie was also predeceased by dear friend Colleen Desmarais. Wannie will be lovingly remembered by her sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Gib Warner of Sardis, BC; niece Diana Morse and Steve Gray, Daniel and Jeremy Morse of Hay Lake, AB; nephew Bob and Vickie Warner, Rachel and Danielle of Langley, BC; nephew Terry and Tamara Warner and Teno Avery of Surrey, BC, as well her special family Dan Guskjolen and Kim Hartz of Regina, her many cousins and friends. A special thank you to the Regina Paramedics, the nurses and staff at Regina General Hospital and the Pasqua Hospital, Parkside Extendicare and the QuAppelle Regional Health Region. No Service by request. A celebration of Wannies life will be held in May at B-Say-Tah Point. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, P.O.
