Obituary of George William Goldie

GOLDIE - Dr. G.W. Goldie (Bill) passed away on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 88 years. He is survived by his immediate family, wife Nora; son Ken (Karen); daughter Lynn (Jim) Charlton of Toronto; grandchildren, Scott (Kayleen) Goldie, Heather (Jason) Winter, Tim Goldie and Craig Goldie; six great-grandchildren and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his first wife Pat in 1968. Bill lived most of his life in Regina, served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WW2, was a graduate from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1949, and had a busy and successful practice in Regina for 35 years. He was a life long member of the United Church, a life member of CMCC, a 50 year member of the Royal Regina Golf Club and 50 year member of King Hiram Lodge. He was an avid sportsman throughout his life. He actively participated in hockey, baseball and football in his early years and he golfed, curled and skated into his 80s. He had a sharp mind and an amazing memory for events past and present. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 14th at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue with Rev. S. Alan Schooley officiating. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in memoriam to CMCC, 6100 Leslie Street, Toronto Ontario M2H 3J1.
