Obituary of Barbara Walz

WALZ " On Tuesday, March 25, 2008 Barbara Walz (Varls) passed away peacefully at the age of 98 years. Predeceased by her husband, Karl; sons, Lloyd, Donald, Marvin, Reg and Stan; sons-in-law, Roy and Jim. Barbara is survived by her sons, Gordon (Gail) and Dennis (Pat) Varls; daughters, Lorraine Melenchuk, Geraldine (Glenn) McPherson, Betty Taylor; and all of Barbs grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara was born on October 13, 1909 in Markinch, SK. For several years Barbara worked at the Regina General Hospital Nurses Residence and at Luther College, before retiring. She was one of the original occupants of the Regina Village when it opened in 1990. She loved her home there and all the people. In 2006 she moved to the Regina Lutheran Home where she again was very happy and lived there until her death. The family wishes to thank the staff of Regina Lutheran Home and Barbaras special friend, Janice for their care and compassion. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, 4825 Dewdney Avenue, Regina with Pastor Bob Leeson officiating. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens.
