Obituary of Leonard (Len) Mark Rapitta

RAPITTA - Leonard Mark, It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Len, who died March 29, 2008 at the age of 56 years. Predeceased by his parents Sophie and John; brother Willie; and brother-in-law Mel Lamont. Len will be fondly remembered by his children, Dustin and Tania (Jason Zylyniak) and their mother Fran; grandchildren, Gage and Alexis; special friend Ken McNaughton; brothers, Phillip (Barb), Ted (Marie), Valentine (Eileen), Randell (Carmen), Raymond (Linda) and Steve (Marny); sisters, Betty Lamont, Shirley (Roger) Thevenot, Doreen (Eugene) Gogal, Dianne (Larry) Wood, Georgina (Ken) Moreau, Bonnie (Erling) Madsen; as well as many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Len was born in Kipling, but spent most of his life in Regina. Len had an artistic ability, and built and designed many beautiful things. Len worked in the painting and decorating field, and worked in may of the buildings in the City. Growing up, Len played many sports, later enjoyed coaching, and especially enjoyed watching his grandson play hockey. Len gives special thanks to Dr. V. Kumar and Jan Stirr for their kindness and caring. The family thanks Dr. A. Paul, Lens friend Alice Herold and the nursing staff on 3A, Pasqua Hospital for their compassion and care of Len. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Interment in Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Candiac, SK. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, contributions may be made to the Regina Palliative Care Inc., 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5.
