Obituary of Max Perkin

PERKIN " Max Perkin passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 30, 2008. Born May 17, 1922 at Armley, SK to Walter and Mabel Perkin, Max attended high school at Cutknife, SK. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1942 and served overseas until the end of the war. Max joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, 410 Squadron in England. He moved to Regina in 1949 and worked as an electrician at Imperial Oil from 1949-1975 until the plant closed. He was an avid hunter and athlete, played hockey, and was a fastball pitcher in the inter-city softball league. Max was predeceased by his mother and father, Walter and Mabel Perkin, sister and brother-in-law, Thora and Sandy Archer, brothers, Rex and Glenn. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet, daughter Jean (Fred) Lowenberger of Pilot Butte, son Tom (Brenda) Perkin of Punnichy, grandchildren; Fred (Tanya), Jeff and Janean Lowenberger, Michael, David and Kristine Perkin, great grandchildren; Jaida, Brooklyn and Abbey Lowenberger. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at 2:00 pm in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to Canadian Diabetes Association, 917 Albert Street, Regina, SK, S4R 2P6 or the charity of their choice.
