Obituary of Natalie Slager

NATALIE SLAGER Natalie passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the age of 84. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Don; her children Robert (Jeannette), Don (Barb) and Raye (Jim) Quickfall; grandchildren Amy Quickfall (Robin), Amber (Jordan) Doucette, Scott Slager and Sandy (Mike) Blackmore; sister Emma Carr; brother Archie (Harriet) Herchek; sisters-in-law Minnie and Ann, Joan (Larry) Reykdal and Betty Von Hagen; special sister Mary (Delmar) Becker; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Natalie and Don met and married in Yellowknife, NWT, living there seven years before moving to Regina in 1957. She loved sports, especially baseball and curling. Natalie and Don spent many years enjoying spring training, watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Anaheim Angels. She volunteered at the Pasqua Hospital and was active in the United Church and UCW for many years. Most important for Natalie was her faith in God and her obedience to Gods' Commandments to "Love and Serve Others" as if she were serving the Lord herself. She will be remembered for her kindness, warm smiles, bubbly enthusiasm, love of family gatherings, and baking; especially her cinnamon buns. Funeral Service will be held at Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Avenue, Regina, SK on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, Pasqua Hospital - Emergency Room Equipment, PO Box 1697 Stn Main, Regina, SK, S4P 9Z9, Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 4P1, or Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.
