PHILLIPS " It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of John Jack? Clayton Phillips. Survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jean; daughter Shelly; and son Scott (Tracy); grandchildren, Alexandria, Raina and Mitchell. Jack also leaves behind brothers Bob and Ron; sister Carol (Nick); father and mother-in-law Mike and Victoria Bodnaresk; special nieces, nephews and relatives. He was predeceased by older sister Margaret, and parents Archibald and Helena. Born on August 26, 1934 in Milestone, Jack spent his younger years on the family farm in the area of Lipton, which he continued to farm until 1994. In 1961 Jack married Jean in Regina, where they settled to raise their children. For 32 years Jack worked as a firefighter with the City of Regina until his retirement as Captain in 1989. Jack will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors, including farming, fishing, hunting and gardening. A hardworking, loyal and dedicated man, Jack was always first to lend a helping hand when needed. Sadly in 1995, Jack was overcome by a complicated health condition, but with the care of his devoted wife, Jean, managed to live out his life with dignity and quality to his final days. Our hearts are saddened with the loss of our husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, however, we cherish the love and joy you gave us and have comfort in the peace that you suffer no more. A private family ceremony was held Friday, May 9, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jacks memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 2360 " 2nd Avenue, Regina S4R 1A6.
