Obituary of Charles Ross Goldie

GOLDIE, Ross passed away on Monday, June 9, 2008. Ross was born in Regina on December 1, 1921, to parents Herbert and Frances Goldie. Herbert died in 1925. Frances moved the family to Bulyea in 1930. Ross joined the RCAF in 1942. He trained in Canada, then in England where he served with 426 Squadron. He married Mary Ellen Williams in 1946. Ross graduated from the University of Manitoba School of Architecture in May 1950 and worked as an architect in Regina until retiring in October 1985. Ross was a member of Assiniboia Lodge #49 A.F.A.M., Wa Wa Shrine, Sons of Scotland, Royal Canadian Legion, 600 Wing of the Air Force Association and R.U.S.I. Ross was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, Ed, Forde, John, and sister Margaret. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ellen, daughter Shirley Brooks, sons Jim, Charlie (Barb), six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one nephew, Peter Goldie (Chris), of Salmon Arm, B.C. Ross and Mary Ellen loved to travel, touring and cruising to many distant lands. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in St. James Anglican Church, 1105 Empress Street. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
