Obituary of Charles Arthur Leach

LEACH, Charles - Charlie passed away June 16th, 2008 at the age of 77 after a brief battle with cancer. Charlie retired in 1986 from the Canadian Pacific Railway after more than 34 years of service. In retirement, Charlie and Marion spent most of their winters at their home in Mesa, Arizona soaking up the sun and developing a large network of friends throughout Canada and the U.S. He was a member of King Hiram Lodge #104, Wa Wa Shrine Drill Corp, and the Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans in Canada. A beloved husband and brother, cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather and loyal friend, he will be greatly missed. Predeceased by his parents, Clifton and Doris Leach, Charlie is survived by his wife of 54 years Marion, sister Gwen Gottschall (Bill), brother Robert Leach (Wendy), brother-in-law Lloyd Kempton (Joan), daughters Donna (George Chu), Lois (Lewis Megaw), Jan (Guy Craig), son Ken (Fiona), grandchildren Dave Megaw (Allyson), Wendy Megaw (Lee Middleton), Beth Lehmann (Matt), Susan Wheten (Shawn), Michael Craig, Jennifer Henderson (Marty), Megan Leach (James Rutledge) and Chris Gettle, great-grandchildren Mark Megaw, Danika Middleton, Cole and Zoe Wheten and Kyra and Keenan Henderson as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Private interment in Riverside Memorial Park, Masonic Columbarium at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wa Wa Shrine Patient Transportation Fund, 2065 Hamilton Street, Regina, SK. S4P 2E1.
