Obituary of Murray Jack McNabb

MCNABB_Murray J. Murray J. McNabb passed away peacefully at Parkside Extendicare on Friday July 4 2008. He was predeceased by his mother Ella Nora (nee Berg) and father John Smith McNabb and one brother Neil. He is survived by his loving wife Marion, his son Neil (Jean) and their children Julia and Kevin of Surrey BC; his daughter Beth (Gordon Grant) and their children Stuart and Ellen of Calgary, Alberta. He is also survived by one sister Lois (Ross Perry) of Sidney BC; special cousin Margaret Purse of Regina Sask; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and California; two sisters-in-laws Norma (Ivan Olliffe) of Klammoth Falls Oregon; Janet DeWalt of Sacramento California and three brothersin law Donald McPhee, Neil (Beth) McPhee and William McPhee all of Davidson Sask. Murray participated and excelled in many sports track and field, professional hockey (player and referee), professional softball and was coach of boy's basketball at Scott Collegiate. He was Past President and member of Royal Regina Golf club, member of the Tartan Curling club, Past Grand Master of Masonic Friendship Lodge in Grenfell and Regina Sask and a long time member of Wesley United Church. Murray was born in Regina and lived his early years in Lajord Saskatchewan. He attended Luther College, University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina obtaining his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees. Murray was a principal in the Grenfell School district and a long serving teacher for the Regina School Board teaching social studies at Sheldon, Scott, Balfour and Robert Usher schools. A private family service with Rev John Haas officiating will be held at a later date with internment in Regina Riverside cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so wish, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Sask or a charity of your choice. Special thank you to all the caregivers at Parkside Extendicare who provided wonderful care and extended such kindness to our family.
