Obituary of Andrew Michael Klapak

KLAPAK - Andy Klapak, 64, passed away peacefully at the Regina General Hospital on Sunday, July 6, 2008 due to complications from his courageous battle with lung disease. He spent his final moments in the company of the people that made his life matter, his wife Sylvia and his children, Mona, Jason, and Kelvin (in spirit, as he was still enroute from BC). A man who loved his many friends and family, particularly his grandchildren, dearly, Andy wouldn't have it any other way. He was the consummate craftsman tile and flooring installer who gave the gift of beauty to his many customers and always had time for his loved ones. In his quieter times, Andy lovingly nurtured his garden and took much joy in working outdoors. On many nights, Andy's laugh filled the house during long games of cards with family and friends, and his laugh will be greatly missed. Andy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sylvia, daughter Mona, sons Kelvin (his wife Leanne and their children Kane and Kayla of Mission, BC) and Jason (and his wife Candi and their children Jacqueline and Griffin of Calgary, AB). As per Andy's request, he will be cremated with a private celebration to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in his name to the Society for Treatment of Autism, 404, 94th Avenue S.E. Calgary, AB T2J 0E8.
