Obituary of David Hofer

HOFER - David Hofer, 87 years, of Arm River Hutterite Colony, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2008, with his caring family at his side. DAVID'S memory will be cherished by his devoted wife ELIZABETH of 64 years; daughters: Elizabeth (Jake) Ponteix SK, Kathryn (Rev. Jacob) Raymond AB, Edna (loving care-giver); daughter-in-law Annie; sons: Dave (Lydia), Darius (Bertha), Paul (Dora), Rev. Joe (Kathy), Dan (Marie), and George (Sarah). DAVID was blessed with 42 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. DAVID, our positive leader and role model will be dearly missed. DAVID was predeceased by his infant daughter Kathrina; son Elias and great grandson Mathew; six brothers and four sisters. They will be happily reunited in heaven. DAVID was born July 20, 1921, in Menno, South Dakota. At the age of 10, his family immigrated to Canada. This ambitious man lived his life to the fullest. He was a well respected business man, the "Eggman to many. His knowledge in the egg and chicken industry was invaluable. We, the family, greatly appreciate the kindness and professional expertise of Dr. Gruszczynski, for F.M.U. Regina General Hospital and the supportive and loving encouragement of the Pasqua Palliative Team.
