Obituary of Frank Deutsch

DEUTSCH, Frank. It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend on August 8, 2008 at the age of 81. Frank will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Helen; his daughter Edie (Blaine) Gibbons; most precious grandchildren Sean and Sarah Gibbons. Survived by his brother Willibald (Erma); sister Rosa Schreiner; sisters-in-law Anni Fodor, and Anna Sommer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his parents Franz and Maria Deutsch; in-laws Joseph and Gisela Fodor; brothers-in-law Alois Fodor, Franz Fodor, Adolf Fodor, Joseph Sommer, Franz Schreiner, Victor Gartner, and sister-in-law Mitzi Gartner. Frank was born in Burgenland, Austria on April 28, 1927. In 1954 he immigrated to Canada and settled in Regina. A couple of years later he met and married Helen and together they raised their only daughter (Edie) in Regina. He worked for 27 years at Ipsco until his retirement in 1989. Frank loved fishing and nature and enjoyed spending weekends at the summer cottage at Regina Beach. His pride and joy were his two grandchildren, Sean and Sarah, whom will miss him immensely. Heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses involved in Frank's care. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's R. C. Church, 2026 Winnipeg Street, Regina with Rev. R. Rodriquez presiding. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
