Obituary of Beatrice Randall

RANDALL - On Friday, September 5, 2008, Beatrice Randall (nee Kumin) died at the age of 94 years. Beatrice was born in Massachusetts, USA where she lived most of her life. She was living in Greenfield, Massachusetts when her dear husband, Herbert, died. At the age of 79 she immigrated to Canada in order to live near her son in Regina, Saskatchewan. She soon made friends and was noted for her intelligence, literary gifts, her sense of humour and her unique view of life. Beatrice is survived, in Canada, by her only son David and his wife Beti, her grandchildren, Sara (Randall Nadurak) and her husband Bob of Lumsden, Saskatchewan, Jason Randall and his wife Lisa of Ottawa, Ontario, and three great-grandsons, William and Evan Nadurak, and Matthew Randall. She is being sorely missed by family in Massachusetts, including (of her generation) Anton Franke and Ruth Kumin, as well as nephew Steven Kumin and nieces Evalyn Lawnsby, Enid Kumin, Susan Kumin and Cynthia Gillenwaters and their families. A private funeral service in Regina will be held for the family. Friends are invited to sign an online book of condolences at www.speersfuneralchapel.com. A celebration of Beatrice's life will be held at a later date in Massachusetts. Floral tributes are gratefully declined. Friends who wish to, may make donations in memoriam, to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7, The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), 2550 Broad Street, Regina, SK S4P 3Z4, or to a charity of their choice. Beatrice's family would like to thank Juma Care Services (Southland Manor) for their loving care over the last few years. The medical care she received from members of the Family Medicine Unit and at the Regina General Hospital (Unit 5E) was exceptional - professionally competent, personal and compassionate.
