Obituary of Walter Karl Wirth

WIRTH - Walter Karl Wirth, age 88 years, late of Regina, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, September 20, 2008. Predeceased by his first wife Lillian, two brothers and one sister, Walter is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Alma; son Grant (Maureen) and grandchildren, Kent (Georgia) and Kevin (Cathy), great-grandchildren, Kaila, Josh, Brandt and Keagan; son Garth (Cathy) and grandchildren, Jason (Nicole), Julie (Rick), Jaryd (Danielle), great-grandchildren, Brett, Kelsey, Austin, Lexie and Courtney; son Garry (Avril) and grandchildren, Jasmin (Chad) and Harland; daughter Arvella (Charlie). He is also survived by four brothers, Eddie, Herman (Dora), Harold (Melody) and Chalmers (Eileen) and two sisters, Martha Kilgus and Olga Charboneau. Walter was a veteran of WW II serving overseas with the Canadian infantry. He later married Lillian Grant and farmed in the Etaples district for over forty years. After Lillian passed away he moved to Regina where he married Alma Hammersley. During this time he hauled milk, drove a school bus and ran a delivery business. He and Alma enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Mexico, Maritimes, Las Vegas and British Columbia. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Jim Balfour officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers most gratefully declined.
