Obituary of Kenneth William Baseden

It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of our dear Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend. Ken was born at home in Kendal, Saskatchewan to William and Charlotte Baseden. At the age of 19, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served overseas during the Second World War. He fell in love with his soulmate and love of his life, Phyllis Kress. They married in October of 1947. Together, with love and laughter, they raised four children. A gentle man who never judged, he will remain in our hearts forever. Predeceased by his parents William and Charlotte; brothers Jess and Percy; and sisters Edna McCune and Kay Picot. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Phyllis; sons Terry (Margaret) and Ron (Peggy); daughters Shirley (Bob) and Judy (Tom); grandchildren Shane (Marian), Brett (Vanessa), Tyler (Amanda), Ryan (Ariann), Brittani (Brandon) and Christopher (Heather) great-grandchildren Olivia, Riley, Ava and Kohl; brother Roy; very special friend Myrna Wilgosh; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. A Funeral Mass in Celebration of Ken’s life will be held at Holy Child Roman Catholic Church, 2636 7th Avenue East, Regina on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s honor to Regina Palliative Care Inc., 4F-4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A5.
