Obituary of Elsie Fradette

ELSIE FRADETTE 1936 2012 The family of Elsie Fradette (nee Popadynec) announce her passing on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Predeceased by her parents Sam and Katie; sisters, Anne, Olga and Helen; and her beloved husband of fifty-one years, Eddie in 2009. Elsie will be remembered and cherished by her daughters Karen (Ron) and Carmen (Harvey); her precious grandson Tanner and brother Bill as well as several in-laws, nieces and nephews. Elsie was born June 14, 1936 and raised on the farm near Wynyard, Saskatchewan. As a young woman, she moved to Regina where she lived until her passing. She married Eddie on August 17, 1957. She stayed home to raise her family, and later worked at Henderson Distributors, Canfor Building Supplies and then Safeway Head Office. She also ran her own business from home for many years Elsie Fradette Hosiery and enjoyed the friendship and interaction with all her customers. Elsie liked to garden and loved baking, cooking and canning. She was always up for a game of cards, enjoyed country music and was an avid Rider fan. Mom cherished her time with Tanner, her grandson. He was her pride and joy. The last three and a half years were spent at the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home in Regina. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at the Santa Maria for the care she received during her time there and for the warm support in her last days. Mom will be forever loved and missed. The Celebration of Elsies Life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Joe Lang officiating.
