Obituary of Verna Grace Caunter

CAUNTER - Verna Grace (nee Weedmark) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at the age of 101. Verna was born in Beachburg, Ontario, on January 20, 1907. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Archie Caunter in July 1971, her son Gerry Caunter in February 2008, her grandson Christopher Caunter in July 2007, her parents, one brother and six sisters. Verna leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Marcia (Bruno) Nerenberg of Regina, her daughter-in-law Melinda Whitaker of Victoria, B.C., six grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. A 1929 graduate of the Regina Grey Nuns School of Nursing, Verna was a dedicated registered nurse until her retirement in 1972. She was a lover of nature, gardening and music. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Avenue, Regina, with Reverend Jack Bray officiating. Verna's cremated remains will be interred within her husband's plot at Riverside Memorial Park in a private ceremony.
