Obituary of Theodore Joseph Jacobs

JACOBS - On Friday, September 26, 2008, Ted Jacobs, late of Regina, passed away at the age of 68 years. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Magdelena Jacobs; stepmother Birdie Jacobs; brother George, sister Irene Hopfauf; brother-in-law Peter Hopfauf; stepsister Esther Sargant. Ted is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elsie; son Thomas (Jean); daughters Dawn (Trevor), Corinne (Mike), Magdalena (Scott); nine grandchildren; Jacqui (18), Nicole (17), Stephanie (16), Danielle (11), Emily (10), Sydney (9), Mikhaela (7), Michael (5), Austin (3), and tenth grandchild forth coming; siblings Frank (Mary, deceased), William (Helen), Alice Hubenig (Glen), Louise Horning (Ike), Ken Fahlman (Helen, deceased); as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and special life long friends. Ted's children would like to send a special thank you to Robin for all the help she gave to mom, Elsie and the family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Renal Unit at the Regina General Hospital for all their efforts and kindness that made Ted's time there memorable as well as all those on 6F who made Ted's last days comfortable, respectful and peaceful. Ted retired as a captain from the Regina City Fire Department in 1995 after 31 years of service. He began his career with the department in 1964 and was very proud to be a firefighter. His passion was evident through the many stories he shared. One of Ted's favourite hobbies was having coffee and visiting with friends. He loved spending time with and teasing his grandchildren. Dad you are loved and will be missed dearly and when we meet remember "You're buying. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, September 29, 2008 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. Funeral service will be held in Speers Funeral Chapel, Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 1:30pm. Flowers gratefully declined.
