Obituary of Dr. Edgar George Diamond

DR. EDGAR GEORGE DIAMOND 1927 2012 Surrounded by the love of Betty and Jennifer, Dr. Edgar George Diamond passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 7, 2012, eleven days short of his 85th birthday. Ed was predeceased by an infant son prior to birth; his parents Omer and Rose Diamond; sister-in-law Irene Manz and brother-in-law Ivan Millar. Ed is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty (Hornoi); daughter Jennifer; sister Lillian Millar of Lethbridge, Alberta; nieces, Michelle (Allan) Jacobs of Lethbridge, Sharon (Steve) Webb of Lethbridge and Lavonne (Neil) Herbst (Andrew and Alyson) of Edmonton, Alberta and nephew Murray (Karen) Millar (Alex, Kensie and Cassandra) of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Wilfred Manz (Karen (Ken) Gellner and Leslie Ann (Mike) Chandler); sister-in-law Diana (Norm) Ritter (Dana (Dean) Gherasim and Nevin (Tara) Ritter). Ed was born October 18, 1927 at Fort MacLeod, Alberta. He attended school in Crowsnest Pass and graduated from Blairmore High School in 1947. Ed graduated from Medicine (University of Alberta) in 1954. After interning at Calgary General Hospital, he obtained his Anaesthesia Specialty Certification in 1959 at Vancouver General Hospital, then returning back to Calgary to practice anaesthesia at the Calgary General Hospital, Rockyview General Hospital and the Colonel Belcher Hospital until his retirement in 1989. After his retirement, Ed devoted his life to his special daughter, Jennifer. Memorial Service will be held at Bread of Life Lutheran Church, 3018 Doan Drive, Regina on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Carla Blakley officiating.
