Obituary of Isabel Petruic

PETRUIC - Isabel Petruic (nee Buzila), formerly of Avonlea, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2008 at the age of 93 years. Isabel was predeceased by her husband, George; sons, Stan and Cliff; and grandson, Danny. She leaves to mourn, her daughter Carol (Bill Hunt); sons, John (Laurie), Fred (Bonnie) and Ken (Denise); eighteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren; brother, Steve; sisters, Francis, Helen and Marg. Isabel married George Petruic in 1936. They farmed in the Crystal Hill and Avonlea districts. Together, they were active participants in many community activities. Isabel was a kind and generous woman who opened her home to friends, neighbours, and strangers alike. She accepted the ups and downs of life with grace and dignity. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed discussing politics, sports and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family, who were the centre of her world. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Avonlea United Church, Avonlea. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Avonlea.
