Obituary of Raymond Walter Miller

RAYMOND WALTER MILLER April 25, 1926October 14, 2008 Ray Miller was born on the family farm, ten miles west of Cymric, Saskatchewan, overlooking Last Mountain Lake. It was there that he developed his two passions in life, farming and fishing. Ray's farming career spanned over sixty years and evolved from the use of threshing machines to GPS systems. As an avid commercial fisherman, he not only looked forward to setting and pulling his nets but also enjoyed selling his catch to his loyal customers. Ray was predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth, an infant son Darryl, sisters Pearl, Lillian and Dorothy and his brother Douglas. Two other siblings, Harold and Annie, died in childhood. Ray is survived by Phyllis, his wife and farming partner of fifty-four years. He is also survived by his three children: Joan Miller and Brian Miller, both of Regina and Donna (John) Humbert of Moose Jaw. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Marilyn Keerak officiating.
