Obituary of Carol Hamel

HAMEL - On Thursday, October 16, 2008 Carol Hamel (nee: Scherle) passed away at the age of 80 years with her sister, Martha at her side. Predeceased by her parents, Martin (1966) and Philippine (1981); husband David (1997); three brothers, Roy (1985), Martin (1998), John (2003) Scherle; three sisters, Frieda Nightingale (1978), Lorraine Carkner (1996), Erna Jensen (2003). Carol is survived by her eldest sister, Katie (Heinz) Roloff, and sisters, Phyllis (Doug) Severt, Martha Ingles; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was born near Gravelbourg on the family farm. She moved to Regina where she met her husband David. They were married in 1952, and continued living and working in Regina until David's passing in 1997. Carol's last year was spent at Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home. Carol's family would like to thank the staff of the 2nd floor at Santa Maria for their love, friendship and care they gave their sister. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Pastor Darold Sauer officiating. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. Flowers gratefully declined.
