Obituary of Lois Isabell McGregor

LOIS ISABELL McGREGOR August 12, 1920 October 8, 2012 Lois passed away peacefully on Monday, October 8, 2012 with her son Neil and daughter-in-law Pam at her side, to rejoin her husband Arnot and son David in Gods care. She was predeceased by her husband Arnot; son David; parents Richard and Margaret Coakwell; sisters Dorothy and Edith; and two brothers in infancy. Lois is survived by son Neil (Pam), granddaughter Christine (James), grandson Paul (Crystal, great-granddaughter Aija and great-grandson Zayden); daughter-in-law Chris. granddaughter Karen (great-granddaughter Kelsey). grandson Scott. granddaughter Sheila; sisters Marion and Nora; brother Malcolm; as well as many nieces and nephews. Lois grew up on a farm near Stoughton and moved to Regina where she met Arnot, her husband of 63 years. She began raising her family in 1951 with Neils arrival followed by David in 1953. Family life included a cottage in the QuAppelle Valley, volunteer work, numerous worldly adventures, winters in California, and memorable Sunday dinners with the entire family. These were always overshadowed by a loving life long commitment and interest in her growing family. Playing bridge with friends, golf at the Wascana Golf and Country Club and teaching her grandchildren how to make gravy for the Sunday family dinners were cherished times. Funeral Service will be held at Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Darrell Reine officiating, preceded with a private interment. She shared her husbands belief and faith in the good work of the Regina Family YMCA. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to the Regina Family YMCA, 2400 13th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 0V9. The family would like to thank the staff of Victoria Park Community Personal Care Home, Wards 6A and 5F at the General Hospital, Ward 3A at the Pasqua Hospital and Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for their care and compassion expressed over the past several months, weeks and days.
