Obituary of Ella Irene' Kaltenbruner

KALTENBRUNER It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Irene Kaltenbruner on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the age of 94 years. Predeceased by her mother and father, Annie and Henry Kaltenbruner; brothers, Wes (Amy), Ken (Mary); sister, Ethyle (Don) Elder; nephew Kenneth Kaltenbruner; brothers-in-law, Ron Robinson and Peter Vensland. Irene is survived by her sisters, Janet Robinson and Shirley Vensland; nieces and nephews, Donna (Vic) Lutz of Virginia, Betty Earl of Toronto, Harold (Linda) Kaltenbruner of Lethbridge, Carol (Bill) Clarke of Edmonton, Barb (Dan) Rio, Ronalee (Grant) Findlay, Bill Robinson, Diane (Doug Rhodes) of Assiniboia, Linda Vensland of Edmonton. Irene's life was her nursing career, friends and family. She was born in 1914 in Drinkwater, SK. She graduated from the School of Nursing at Regina General Hospital in 1936. She nursed many years in Portland except for 1944 1946 when she served with the U.S. Army in China. She returned and worked as the Maternity Head Nurse at Emanuel Hospital and Medical Centre in Portland until her retirement in 1977. Irene returned to Regina at the age of 80 where she spent her time visiting friends and family. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. The interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. in Regina Memorial Gardens, #1 Highway East (please meet at the gate). Flowers gratefully declined.
