Obituary of Carol Lynn McKay-Lawrence

McKAY-LAWRENCE " On Tuesday, November 11, 2008 Carol Lynn McKay-Lawrence passed away at the age of 51 years. Predeceased by her father Gordon McKay, Carol Lynn is survived by her husband, Greg; sons, Matthew and Kyle; mother, Jean McKay; brothers, Donald (Joann), Ronald (Kathy), and Robert (Pam). Carol attended Benson School and Martin Collegiate in Regina. She attended the University of Saskatchewan graduating with a BSPE in 1981, earned her Diploma in Nursing from SIAST in 1982, and completed her BSc in Nursing from the University of Saskatchewan in 1999. Carol first worked at the Regina General Hospital in Pediatrics and later moved to a position in Staff Development at the Plains Health Centre. She also worked as an Employee Health Nurse at the Pasqua and General Hospitals and as a Return to Work Consultant for private company, covering Southern Saskatchewan. Her last position was with the Sask School Boards Association as the Disability Management Co-ordinator. Throughout her life Carol was active in sports and an avid swimmer. At the age of 8 years she swam across Crooked Lake. She worked as a life guard early in life and excelled in synchronized swimming, representing Saskatchewan at the National Championships. She participated in high school sports and, as an adult played volleyball for many years with the Tippers. Carols greatest enjoyment in life came from time she spent with her family where she was wife, mom, coach, trainer, and fan. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Rosemont United Church, 5000 " 8th Avenue, Regina with Rev. Marjorie Kent officiating. Flowers gratefully declined.
