She had a special place in her heart for all of them. Joanie loved life. She was an independent, generous woman with love for everyone she encountered. She was a true Roughrider fan. She loved her golfing and serenity at Regina Beach. She was blessed with the gift of care and compassion for others, and she accepted everyone and everything that life offered. She was a true and wonderful spirit. Truly a very gracious woman, even during her years of struggle for her own well-being. The family would like to send a special thank you to the community of Regina Beach and all of her friends for the love and support they gave so freely. To everyone who waited with Joanie while we drove out those unfortunate times, she was truly blessed to have you by her side. Joanie has alot of special friends, life-long, old and new and she felt truly blessed, as they did too. To Dr. Salim and nurses, thanks for taking care of "trouble as she was known at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre. You always were there for the family. To Dr. J. S. McMillan and Dr. L. Clein, the nurses and staff at Grace Hospice, you were a God send. Thank you, is not enough. This human life of ours is always a mix of triumph and tragedy. We take comfort where we can, remembering that "the people who walked in darkness have seen great light. There will be no funeral service, this was Joanies wish. Cremation. When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little - but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love we once shared
Miss me - but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
Its all part of the Masters plan
A step on the road to Home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart,
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me - but let me go.
Love Joanie
