Obituary of Clive Leonard Cunning

CUNNING, CLIVE LEONARD - A very special man passed away peacefully at the Wascana Grace Hospice in Regina on August 15th after a courageous battle with cancer. Clive, at age 78, was predeceased by his wife JoAnn and parents, Dorothy and Cecil Cunning. He is lovingly remembered by his three daughters: Coral (Perry) Rink of White Rock, BC, Diann (Hugh) Sutherland of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sylvia (Craig) Hooper of Regina; two sons, Leonard of Vancouver, BC, John (Efrosini Drimoussis) of Vancouver, BC; ten grandchildren: Sean, Keegan, Camilla, Sasha, Callum, Keiran, Keanna, Dimitrios, Christos and Yiannis; sister Sheila Smail of Regina; sister-in-law Kathryn (Allan) McKinlay of Ridgetown, ON; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Clive was born in Regina on March 14, 1928. While completing his medical degree at the University of British Columbia he met his wife, JoAnn, a Registered Nurse. After returning to Regina, Clive practiced as a family physician for 27 years. A well-respected and trusted physician, Clive cared for and touched many lives over the years. He will be remembered for his compassion, commitment and caring. For the last 15 years of Clives career, he practiced as a Medical Health Officer until his retirement at age 68. A devoted family man, Clive especially enjoyed family snow skiing vacations and summer boating activities at Regina Beach. Throughout his life, Clive encouraged all to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle. His combined love for family, fitness and health shines through and is shared by the next generation of his family members. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset United Church, 177 Sunset Drive with Rev. Russell Mitchell-Walker officiating.
