Obituary of Walter Starosta

STAROSTA, Walter - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Starosta on Monday, September 4th, 2006. Walter was born on September 8th, 1927 in Vonda, Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth in 1990; and his brother William in 2002. He leaves to mourn his daughters Diana (Bill) Wilson and JoAnn (Ken) Exner; his beloved granddaughter Alexandra Exner; step-mother Pauline; sisters Elizabeth Boychuk and Phyllis (Marcel) LePage; brother Alex (Mabel) Starosta; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many friends. Walter worked at Land Titles for 32 years before retiring and then spent 19 years as the office courier for McCrank, Stewart & Johnson law offices. He was also actively involved in the Knights of Columbus Bishop Budka Council #5914 and his church. Prayers will be held on Thursday, September 7th at 7:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Divine Liturgy will be held on Walters birthday, Friday, September 8th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Athanasius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 55 McMurchy Avenue with Father Len Romanow presiding. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina S4T 1A5 or a charity of your choice. Special thanks to all the staff on 1D East at Regina General Hospital for their wonderful care of Walter.
