Obituary of Lena Herman

HERMAN - Lena (nee Hornoi) passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at Cupar and District Nursing Home at the age of 95. Lena was born on June 9, 1911 in the Earl Grey area. She married Otto Herman on January 27, 1929. Lena loved the farm life. Her church, family, garden, chickens, quilting, needlework and baking brought great joy to her life. Lena was predeceased by her parents, Zarrie and Nettie Hornoi; husband, Otto; brothers, Ted, John, Pete, Henry and Ed; sisters, Mary, Nettie and Eva; grandson, Ronald Thurbide. Left to cherish her memory, daughter, Eileen (Cam) Thurbide, Victoria, BC; son, Elmer (Florence) Herman of Earl Grey, SK; nine grandchildren, Cathy (Lyle) Sandercock, Cal (Jennifer) Thurbide, Colleen Herman, Cameron (Liz) Thurbide, Kevin Herman, Charlene (John) Dumalski, Blain Herman, Roy Thurbide and Maureen (Cory) Wilde; ten very precious great-grandchildren, Carter Keller, Brill, Carly and Rhett Sandercock, Tianna and Drew Wilde, Aline Dumalski, Landon, Magdalen and Bronte Thurbide; sister, Lydia Dengler; sister-in-law, Mary Townley-Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, Earl Grey, SK. Interment at Earl Grey Cemetery.
