Obituary of Ernest Schaffer

SCHAFFER - On Sunday evening, October 8, 2006, Ernest passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by his parents, Adam and Caroline Schaffer; sisters Clara Trapp, Lydia Iberer, Katie Tramer; and brother Rudolph. Ernest is survived by his wife of 65 years and 11 months, Frieda; daughter Gerry Whippler of Redmond, WA; sons Wayne (Sherrilee) Schaffer of North Vancouver, BC, Daryl (Brenda) Schaffer of Regina; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister Mary Hackbart of Waterloo, ON; sisters-in-law Sophie Schaffer of Southey and Ella Iberer of Regina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Dr. L. Clein, nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit, Pasqua Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, 1037 Victoria Avenue, Regina with Pastor Glen Stever officiating. A private interment service will follow at a later date.
