Obituary of Robert McCondach

McCondach, Robert (Bob) After a life well-lived, Robert (Bob) Ross McCondach passed away peacefully at Pasqua Hospital, Regina, surrounded by the love of his family, on November 16, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, mentor and role model, Bob was born on November 20, 1930, in Barrie, Ontario, to William Ronald (Ron) and Hazel McCondach. He is also pre-deceased by father and mother-in law George and Sarah Booty, sister-in-law Gladys McCondach, brother and sister-in law George Jr. and Jean Booty and brother-in-law Clifford Koch. Left with rich memories are: his best friend and wife of 54 years, Helen; daughter Maureen King (Rick) of Regina; son Mark of Ottawa, Ontario; brother Bruce of Victoria, B.C.; sister-in law Margaret Koch, of Regina; granddaughter Meghan Jorgensen (Tim) of Regina; grandson Rob King (Dana) of Prince Albert and newly arrived great-grandson Zane Alexander King. Bob was raised in Duncan B.C. and came to Regina as a member of the RCMP. He then joined the Regina Fire Department, where he worked for 37 years, before retiring in 1989 as Deputy Fire Chief. He was an active outdoorsman, enjoying hunting at his "hunting lodge in Shackleton with his best four-legged pal Bo, an avid and competitive curler, and an accomplished and award-winning trap shooter. He leaves many friends at the Regina Trapshooting Club. Bob lived his life with great integrity, dignity and high standards of excellence - an example to us all. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of Wards 3A and 3D at Pasqua Hospital, especially Dr. Lotz, Dr. McMillan, Dr. McHattie, Dr. Clein, and Tim Abello, who provided such great support during this difficult time. Flowers gratefully declined but friends so wishing may make donations to the charity of their choice. At Bobs request there will be no funeral. Cremation has been arranged. A celebration of Bobs life will be announced at a later date. An on-line book of condolences may be signed at www.remembering.ca.
