Obituary of Douglas Carl Smith

SMITH, Douglas Carl, passed away suddenly on December 11, 2006. Doug was born January 22, 1951 in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his grandparents and his mother Elaine. He is loved and remembered by his companion Marianne Schuette; daughters, April (Dario) Antic, Kim (Joe) Vaskor, Kelly Smith, Jaye Smith; grandchildren Jordan, Brittney, Curtis, Emma and Kylie; seven step-children; eleven step-grandchildren; step-father Glenn DeMerchant; sisters, Laura (Walter) DeRoin, Eleanor (John) Fraser, Shelly (Scott) Hitchcock, and Sheila (Wayne) Stadnyk; and brother Graydon (Marsha) Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doug loved to garden, read, fish and pick fiddleheads and most importantly spend time with his family. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Interment of ashes to take place in May in New Brunswick.
