Obituary of Regina Celestina Matlock

MATLOCK - REGINA CELESTINA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at the age of 86 years with family by her side. Reg was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Rosa Eberts; sisters, Ida, Annemarie, and Katherina; brothers, Tony, Pius and Steve. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Bill; daughters, Shirley (Gary) Stinson, Joan (Dennis) Agopsowicz, and Geraldine (Ed) Antonini; son, Terry (Cathy); grandchildren Ryan (Karrie), Rhea (Chris) Mathies, Rhett (Amanda), Darren (Chelsey), Riley, Holly (Jamie) Gustafson, Heather, Brett and Jesse; and 6 great-grandchildren, Eddie, Mia, Lui, Ellie, Maddix and Joshua. Also left to mourn are Regs brother John; sisters, Anne Wingert, Lizzie Geis, Rosemarie Hubick and Emilia Frohlick; and by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Reg was born on February 19, 1920 in QuAppelle. In 1940 she joined the RCAF, went overseas and was posted in London. On April 26, 1948 she married Bill Matlock. They farmed in the Lumsden area until their retirement. Reg loved to garden but was best known for her beautiful quilts, and she was the No. 1 fan of her children and grandchildrens sporting activities. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 16 at 10:30 AM at Lumsden Community Hall. Private family interment in Lumsden Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to St. Peters Roman Catholic Parish in Lumsden, or charity of choice.
