Obituary of Lorae Chapiel

CHAPIEL - On December 30, 2006 Lorae Chapiel, late of Regina, formerly of Saskatoon, passed away suddenly at home, at the age of 71 years. Predeceased by her parents, Charles Chapiel in 1996 and mother Jean Zrudlo in 1989, Lorae will be sadly missed by her daughters Joanna (Randy) Powers of Regina, Barbara (Rod) Black of Oakville ON, Moneca Wollis of Regina, Eroca Christante of Saskatoon; grandchildren: Savannah, Ciaara, Brenden, Alexannder, Kasandra, Carsen; great grandson Zackery; her brother Rubyn Chapiel of Surrey BC, and the father of her four daughters, Dennis Burwell of Regina. Lorae will always be remembered by her many other relatives, friends from near and far, and the people with whom she worked at Crisis Management in Saskatoon. Most especially all the lives she touched through her tireless work operating her health care home for nearly twenty years, they were always her 'special guys'. Leisure time was limited but she found an outlet for just a small bit of her endless creativity and significant talent through Saskatoon Gateway Players, her singing and her poetry. Fun lunches full of laughter with close friends, celebrating with her special Birthday and Red Hat Clubs over the years, precious time with her family, being on her computer and working endlessly on her lovely home and garden kept her life full. She was quite an amazing person to all who knew her. So wise and yet always open to discovering new learnings. She shared her wisdom and anything else she had, yet never hesitated to ask for guidance, ideas or input. So very complicated and infinitely interesting. She was a seeker a searcher, a student of the universe, not satisfied with the usual answers. She had been through much but never let it slow her down. Somehow we can't help but feel there was much more she had to teach us all. A memorial service will be held on Thursday January 4, 2007 at 1:30 PM at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations in memoriam to a charity of their choice or those closest to Mom's heart which included Amnesty International, RAWA, and The Wakefield Grannies, from her little corner of the world she always strived to reach out and make a difference.
