Obituary of Percy George Evans

EVANS - Percy Evans died peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2006. He was born on the family farm near Rouleau in 1920. He served in the Canadian Army during World War II, participating in the Dieppe raid and the Italian campaign. He was employed by the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for several years before returning to farming. Percy will be fondly remembered by his family for his quick wit and good natured sense of humour. He always enjoyed his family, loved to play cards with his grandsons and took great joy in his two great-granddaughters. Percy and Maureen spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona, he always lived life to the fullest. Percy was predeceased by his parents, George and Mary; and by his siblings: brother Bud, and sisters, Frances and Pearl. He is survived by his loving wife Maureen; two daughters, Gaylene (Pleun) of Swift Current and Terry (Ian) of Deer Valley; three grandsons, Rob (Krista), Christopher and Owein (Alana); two great-granddaughters, Hanna and Alena. At Percys request there will be no formal funeral service. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Royal Canadian Legion, 50 3rd Avenue, Lumsden, SK S0G 3C0.
