Obituary of Donald Taylor Bramham

BRAMHAM - Dr. Donald Taylor Bramham, beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2007 at the age of 79 after a life of gentle humour and dedicated service to family and community. He will be greatly missed by his Lydia, his wife of 55 years, his son Jack (Ronda) of Estevan, daughter Daphne (John) of Vancouver, his grandchildren, Duncan, John, Stephanie and Cynthia, nieces Jean, Kathryn, Valerie and Karen and his nephews Harvey and Gordon. Donald was born, raised and educated in Regina before graduating in 1949 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropratic College in Toronto. He returned to Regina and practiced for more than 50 years - many of those with his brother, Jim, who predeceased him. Donald served first as president of the Saskatchewan Chiropractic Association and later as president of the Canadian Chiropractic Association. He was instrumental in setting up the Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association, a liability insurance company for the profession. He was an honorary member of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College for his "courage and vision, a member of the Council on Chiropractic Education, a life member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association and he recently received the Chiropractic Centennial Award of Excellence. He also served on the University of Regina Senate and served in official capacities in the Kinsmen Club, K40, Regina Rotary Club, King Hiram Masonic lodge and the Katepwa Village council. He served on the vestry at both St. Lukes Anglican Church in Regina and All Saints, Katepwa. Donald was an avid Saskatchewan Roughrider fan and a golfer, who aced two holes - one at Katepwa, one in Palm Springs. But his never-ending hobby was the cottage at Katepwa, which he designed, built, redesigned and constantly improved. Donald was predeceased by his father, Jack; his mother, Dora Bramham McDonald, step-father, Hugh McDonald. Memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. at St. Lukes Church, 3233 Argyle Road. Flowers gratefully declined.
