Obituary of Eva Pospisil

POSPISIL - It is with great sadness that the family of Eva Pospisil announce the passing of our Baka; dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on January 8th, 2007 at the age of 88 years. Baka was born Eva Pitz, along with her twin brother Adam, who passed away, on December 19th, 1918 in Dolice, Croatia. In 1938 she married her husband Stjepan Pospisil and they built a home in Okucani, Croatia where they raised their four children. After her husband's death in 1977, Baka moved to Canada in 1983. Baka settled into her new home where she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, going to dances, camping and cooking. No one can ever say that they ever left Baka's presence hungry, without a hug, or with slipper-less feet! Our Baka was predeceased by her parents Franjo and Terezia; brothers Antun, Josip, and Franjo; sisters Anica, Marika, and Irma; husband Stjepan; infant sons Tomislav, Drago and Stefan; and great-grandson Tomislav. Baka is survived and will be tremendously missed by her children Emilia (Tona) of Kosovac, Croatia; Milan (Jelica) of Sandy Beach; Rozalija (Floyd) of Regina; Vladimir (Zdenka) of Calgary; her grandchildren Josip (Gina) of Kosovac, Croatia; Zeljko (Chancamone) of Calgary; Ljiljana (David) of Regina, Sandra (Colin) of Regina; Ramona (Chris) and Romeo of Calgary; and her two furry best friends, Smokie and Noodles. She was especially proud of and deeply loved her great-grandchildren Zeljika, Katarina, Marijana, Kylie, Mario, Cassandra and Abby. The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the nurses of Unit 3B at the Pasqua Hospital for the kindness, caring and attention you gave to our Baka; you truly are angels on earth. Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 12, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Baka's name to 'Friends of Unit 3B' at the Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina S4T 1A5.
