Obituary of Lillian 'Dot' Mary VOLDENG

VOLDENG - Lillian "Dot Voldeng passed away on January 12, 2007. Dot was predeceased by her husband Harold and adopted daughter Sylvia. Dot leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Gayle Kemp and Linda (Bob) Mick, five grandchildren, Peggy, Michael, Sharyn, Cindy and David and five great grandchildren, Jason, Adam, Noah, Samantha and Sierra. Dot displayed unwavering dedication to the causes she supported. She served as co-chair and chair of the Regina Health District Ethics committee. Her 57 year membership with IODE encompassed all four levels (Primary, Municipal, Provincial and National) and she served as Provincial President and National Vice President. Her compassion was clearly demonstrated in all her volunteer work especially her work with the Alzheimers Society. She also served in all executive positions with Wa Wa Shrine Ladies Auxiliary and as an officer with the Daughters of the Nile. Dots longstanding community and humanitarian services have enriched the lives of many. She epitomized the altruistic volunteer. She enjoyed many different sports over the years and she cheered the Riders on through the 50 years she was a season ticket holder. The family extends special thanks to Dots caregivers over the last two years. Thank you for your kindness and support. To her loyal circle of friends who were always there to visit, share a hug and hold a hand, you are special in our hearts. A celebration of Dots life, for friends and family will take place in the summer of 2007. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the charity of your choice. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, Ive only gone to rest a little while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief So dry your eyes and remember me not as I am now, but as I used to be. Because, I will remember you all and look on with a smile. Understand in your hearts, Ive only gone to rest a little while. As long as I have the love of each of you, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.
