Obituary of Marija imi

IMI - Saturday, February 10, 2007, Marija imi (nee Gerovac) of Regina passed away at the age of 77. Marija was born Septmber 19, 1929, the fifth of nine children in Otoac, Croatia, and immigrated to Canada in 1958. Here she met and married Jakov, and traditionally devoted her life to the family, the rearing of their three sons, and the success of the family Construction business. Mother is predeceased by husband Jakov; as well as parents Petar and Rua (nee Kranjevi); and siblings Rua, Mijo, Franja, Kata, and Milka. She is survived by sister Ivanja; brothers Josip and Petar; as well as her sons Branimir, Joseph, and John (Darlene), and their children Emily and Jakov (Jake); plus numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in Canadian Martyrs R.C. Church, 1932-1st Avenue N. with Rev. Peter Nwanekezie presiding. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Prayers will be held on Thursday, February 15 at 8:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the charity of their choice.
