Obituary of Iva May Keck

KECK - On Wednesday, February 28, 2007, Iva May Keck passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 75. Iva was born May 4, 1931 in the Glenavon area and is predeceased by her parents, Harvey and Beatrice Cross; her husband of 54 years, Joe; siblings, Mereta, Gordon, Alma, Howard, Herb, Jean, Irene and Ruth. Iva is survived by her children, Lynda (Rene), Harvey, Tim (Ronda), Brian (Francine), David (Cheryl) and Pat; grandchildren, Adam, Amy (Jason), Todd, Leah, Robbie, Madison, Zoe, Jordyn, Devyn, Brook and Miles; siblings, Evelyn, Norman (Jean), Gerald (Olga), Eunice (Wendel) and Shirley; brothers-in-law, Ken and Ivan. Ivas grandchildren brought her many years of enjoyment and she treasured her moments with them as they did with her. Iva was a stay at home mom whose door and heart were always open to her family as well as our friends and any relatives who needed a safe and secure place to go to. Moms "retirement years were spent with her participating in square dancing, floor shuffle board and her commitment to the Cathedral Community Gardens until Alzheimers no longer allowed her to continue. Although moms last few years were spent dealing with Alzheimers, she managed to maintain her sense of humour and love of her family. We love you mom and will miss you. A special thank you to the great nurses on Unit 4B of the Pasqua Hospital for the excellent care they gave to mom during her stay there and also to Dr. Bester for his care and compassion over the years. Also, thank you to Cliff Geiger for his support through both of these trying times for us. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 3rd at 1:30 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Cliff Geiger officiating. A family burial will take place at a later date to inter the ashes of both Joe and Iva in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan Inc., #301 - 2550 - 12th Avenue, Regina S4P 3X1.
