Obituary of John Csenar

JOHN CSENAR AUGUST 15, 1927 - MARCH 12, 2007 It is with deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and "Opa John. He was predeceased by his parents Hermine and Franz; brother Franz; and uncle and aunt Robert (Anne) Graf. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Karoline "Lina; son Robert (Shelley) and grandson Riley of Saskatoon; daughters Joanne (Jeff) and Carol of Regina. John is also survived by his sister Hermine; brothers Eduard, Erich and Alfred; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives in Austria. John was born in St. Martin a/d Raab, Austria. He immigrated to Canada in 1954 and worked with his uncle learning the electrical trade. In 1957 he joined IPSCO where he worked as an electrician for 30 years and was affectionately known as "Little John. In 1958 his fiance came to Canada from Austria and they were married. They made their home and raised their family in Regina. John and Lina made many lasting friendships through their association with the German Club and later with the Austrian Club of which they were founding members. John enjoyed hunting and fishing and his camaraderie with fellow members of the Austrian Hunting and Fishing Club. He also enjoyed playing cards, gardening and playing all sports with his grandson. Many thanks to the compassionate nursing staff at Pasqua Hospital 3B for making his last days comfortable. Also, thanks to Sister Audrey and Father Hogan for their prayers. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Cross R. C. Church, 315 Douglas Avenue East, Regina with Rev. Norman Marcotte presiding.
