ISABELLE (Chickie) White Buffalo Woman Wapi-mostos-iskew ASSOON-TUCKANOW/CROWE It is with great sadness THE FAMILY announces the passing of our beautiful mother, who was a wife, grandmother, and great-great grandmother, sister and eldest auntie. She passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Balcarres Integrated Nursing Home, with her daughter Donna and granddaughter Lennore at her side. She was 85 years old. Our mom was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Mom is predeceased by her parents James and Elizabeth Tuckanow; John Rockthunder; special son Willie; daughter Carol; grandson Greg Blauth-Poorman; great grandchildren Vincent Morriseau-Poorman and CJ Machiskinic-Assoon; sisters Rosemary McKaye, Elizabeth Rogers, and Alice Berger; brothers Remi Tuckanow, Ernest Tuckanow, and Michael Tuckanow; brother-in-law Grant Dieter and Hugh McCellan; sisters-in-law Pearl Ironchild-Tuckanow, Lavena Fayant-Tuckanow, and Orma Pratt-Tuckanow; and very special grandparents Remi and Blanche Crowe. Mom is survived by her husband Mike of 60 years; daughters Sandy Starr (Buddy) and Donna Machiskinic (Doug); sons Michael Jr. (Erma), Walter (Beatrice), Raymond, Neil (Delores), Greg (Charlene), and adopted son Blaine Malboeuf. Mom is also survived by sisters Mona Dieter; Margaret Kolodziezak, Mary Jane Ironchild, Lydia Desnomie, Judy Pinay, Marie, Barb, Margaret, and Grace; brothers Francis Tuckanow, Charlie (Ann) and Johnny (wife) Rockthunder; uncle Walter Bull (Val), and many extended relatives and friends. Mom has 36 grandchildren, 82 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Weve been thinking, MOM, about all the times you believed in us, when we didnt even believe in ourselves. The times youve understood us when we were so difficult to understand. The times youve encouraged us when we needed it the most. But more than these things, MOM, weve been thinking about the unfailing love which has followed us through all the stages of our lives. Thats why thoughts of love bring thoughts of you to mind, because no one understands the meaning of love better than you do. The family would like to thank the staff at Balcarres and Imperial Integrated Facility for their kindness, consideration and compassion they have shown during this difficult time. We would also like to thank family, relatives and friends who have stood with us. If it was not for your strength, prayers, support and love, we would have lost perspective. Funeral services will be held at the Kawacatoose School on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Pastor William Pinacie officiating. A Traditional Wake will be held at the same location on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 4:00 pm. Traditional Elder Murray Ironchild (nephew) and Elders will conduct both arrangements. Moms final resting place will be at the North End Cemetery by her son Willie. The family would like to invite everyone to a special meal afterwards.
