Obituary of Patricia (Pat) Ann DILLMAN

DILLMAN - Patricia (Pat) Ann Pat, daughter to George and Monica Dillman, was born in Leader, Saskatchewan on March 7, 1959. Her youth was spent in Wilcox, Saskatchewan where she attended elementary school and graduated high school from Notre Dame College in 1977. After graduation she moved to Regina, Saskatchewan where she made her home. She enjoyed a productive and satisfying career with the Catholic School Board, where she started work in 1979. In early 2004, she began her long and difficult battle against lung cancer. Though the challenges were many, she remained strong and stoic for those close to her, always concerned for their comfort and emotional well being. In the early morning hours of March 22, 2007, she was just to weak and tired to continue the fight. Although we will miss her greatly, we are happy she has been freed from the pain and can finally rest peacefully. Pat was predeceased by her father, George and both sets of grandparents. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, mother, Monica Dillman of Medicine Hat, AB; brother Robert (Judie) Dillman of North Gower, ON; sister Florence (Garth) Cyca of Regina, SK; sister Colette Dillman (Ed Wesley) and their children Breanne, Danielle, Ryan and Caitline of Winnipeg, MB. There were many special people involved in Pats final journey, starting with the doctors, nurses and staff in the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, and continuing with the Palliative Care Unit and Grace Hospice. Thank you one and all for your care and compassion. Many thanks to her friends, peers and colleagues at the Catholic School Board for their unwavering care and support. We will be forever grateful for their kind thoughts and actions. They have every reason to be proud of themselves and their organization. Thanks also to the special people in Pats Life; Linda Kot, Katrina Matz, Cindy and Spencer Walker, and Rose and Al Jones. You were her friends and her comfort. Prayers will be held in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2007. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cecilias R. C. Church, 5020 7th Avenue, Regina at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, with Rev. John-Baptist Okai presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pats memory to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4104 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5 or Jean Vanier School, care of Regina Roman Catholic Schools.
