Obituary of Jean Alison Burkholder

BURKHOLDER ? Jean Alison Burkholder, born March 1, 1926, in Bradford, England, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2007, at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by her parents Doris and William Rushworth; husband Paul Woodruff Burkholder; daughter-in-law Isabel Burkholder; Jean is survived by her children: Leslie James (Gail), Stephen Kenneth (Candy), Alison Joyce (Dan), and Philip David (Lynda); grandchildren: Jake, Miles and Luke; sister Gladys (Don) Fletcher; brother William Charles Rushworth; as well as three nieces and one nephew. Jean resided in Toronto and Peterborough, Ontario, and then moved to Regina in 2004. She had a lifelong love of learning, and was very active on the Board of Education in Etobicoke for many years. She was Senior of the Year 2002 in Peterborough, due to her extensive involvement in Senior?s activities and organizations. We will miss the self-proclaimed ?Queen B? zooming around in her ?Silver Bullet?. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, with Rev. Jim Balfour officiating. Flowers most gratefully declined.
