Obituary of Janice Opal Klettke

KLETTKE, Janice Opal, late of Regina, passed away April 9, 2007 at the age of 70. Predeceased by her parents, Almer and Muriel Forgaard, Janice is survived by her special friend and partner, Donna Ward; her sister Cheryl (Peter) Idler of Edmonton; niece Joanne (Geordie) Sinclair of Meadow Lake, SK and their children Peter (Becki) and Patrick; and nephew Jason (Tanya) Idler of Edmonton and their children Nathan and Tyson. Born and raised in Canwood, SK Janice was educated in Saskatchewan and went on to receive her RN Diploma from the Saskatoon Royal University Hospital in 1957. Most of her professional career was spent in Nursing Administration at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre until her retirement in April 1997. Following her retirement Janice was able to pursue and expand her interest and natural talent as an artist. She attended art classes and multi media workshops and continued to develop her own painterly style - her favorite being acrylic landscapes. She was an active member of the Prairie Artists Guild until her passing. She enjoyed the companionship and sociability of curling and golfing and the peaceful solitude of gardening. Her wonderful homecooking will be missed by family and friends as will her quiet, gentle strength and generous nature. Her always positive outlook gained her the respect of co-workers and friends throughout the years. We lovingly remember a wonderful person. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3 or Regina Humane Society, P.O. Box 3143, Regina S4P 3G7. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. Janices cremains will be interred later at a private family service in Regina.
