Obituary of Ethel Johanna Riffel

RIFFEL- Ethel Johanna (nee Gaetz) slipped away peacefully on Friday, April 27, 2007 at the age of 87, after a courageous struggle with Alzheimers. Predeceased by her husband Casimer; parents Michael and Mary Gaetz; brothers Larry, Luke, George, Michael, Mike, Rodney; sisters Mary, Helen and Rosie; brothers-in-law Ted, Hank and Matt; sister-in-law Rose. Left to cherish her memory are her children Bob, Larry (Evelyne), Mary Ann, Conrad (Tracey), Reynold (Pat), Jerry (Bev), Bernadette (Jerry), Cheryl, Tim (Pat); grandchildren Shelley, Ted, Angel, Kathleen, Kevin, Rhonda, Gilles, Rachelle, Ryan, Casey, Matt, Olivia, Christian, Sheila; great grandchildren Fawn, Gema, Matthew, Kyle, Colin, Tehalen, Evan, Kayla, Miranda, Latisha, Austin, Mariah, Jada; brothers Rodney (Liz) and Jimmy (Gerry); sister Nora; sister-in-law Gladys; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the nurses, staff and caregivers of Regina Pioneer Village (3 east and 3 west). The past ten years for Ethel were made easier by their compassion and love. For this we are truly grateful. All services will be held at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina. Prayer service on Tuesday, May 1st , 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 2nd , 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Anthony F. Dizy presiding. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan Inc., #301-2550 12th Ave., Regina SK. S4P 3X1.
